The
Cara Program Transforms Lives - And Itself
Giving
people the tools to transform their lives is what The
Cara Program is all about.
And, in the last few months, The Cara Program’s
staff have taken the idea of transformation to heart.
They have taken steps to refocus the program’s
training curriculum and to provide more specialized
training to all participants.
Students entering The Cara Program
today will encounter some innovative teaching techniques
designed to help them with five life-changing concepts:
+ Think outside the box.
+ Change your behavior.
+ Look at things with new eyes.
+ Don’t relax.
+ Know the deepest truth of who you are.
Steve Sullivan, director of training
and special projects, explained that whereas changing
behavior had always been an underlying concept in the foundational
training that all students receive, it is now also a primary focus throughout the entire period that students are enrolled in The Cara Program.
“We are seeking to transform
the way our students interact with others,” Steve
said. “We want to help Cara participants erase
whatever barriers have been keeping them from success
– both in their work environments and in their
personal lives.”
In less than one year, the revised
training program has produced tremendous results. The number
of participants staying on through the training schedule
has increased as participants see new possibilities
in their lives and become willing to do more. On-the-job
follow-up visits show participants using their new soft
skills along with the hard skills to get along in the
workplace – a transformation that is changing
their lives.
